Death; Capt. Bryce Bishop, Nashville, TN, Airforce died by suicide | GoFundMe

The 187th AES and broader Air National Guard community mourns the heartbreaking loss of Capt. Bryce Bishop, DNP, MBA, RN and Military Officer in the U.S. Air National Guard who took his own life, leaving behind a deep void that words cannot fully express.

Bryce served with honor and dedication in the 187 AES for many years, first as a Med Tech and later as a Flight Nurse, before moving with his family and continuing his service with the Tennessee Air National Guard. His impact on both units and the countless lives he touched will not be forgotten.

Known for his boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm, Bryce had a gift for lighting up every room he entered. His presence brought joy, laughter, and at times, a delightful whirlwind of energy that many came to love and rely on. His spirit was bold—he challenged norms, pushed limits, and inspired those around him to embrace life’s adventures with courage and heart.

Bryce was more than a colleague or commander—he was a friend, a mentor, a motivator, and a beacon of light to so many. He gave so much of himself to others, often putting their needs ahead of his own. Behind that bright exterior, however, Bryce battled with internal struggles that many never saw.

Tour Of Kindness is trying to raise funds through a GoFundMe campaign that will go directly to the family to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, travel back to Wyoming for arrangements, as well as provide support for the family in the coming weeks and months as they begin to heal.

His passing is a painful reminder that even the brightest souls can carry heavy burdens. As we grieve, we hold space for both the light he brought and the pain he carried. We remember Bryce not for the way he left us, but for the way he lived: with passion, generosity, and a heart full of life.

To those he served with, mentored, or simply made smile—his memory will endure. Capt. Bryce Bishop will always remain part of our AES family. May he now find the peace he so deeply deserved.
