The community of Franklin is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Katelyn Mooney, a beloved friend, daughter, and vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with her warmth, humor, and genuine kindness. Katelyn passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
A proud graduate of Franklin High School, Katelyn went on to study Communication Studies at Framingham State University. Her magnetic personality and ability to connect with others made her a natural in both academics and social circles. Most recently, she worked at Teddy Gallagher’s Irish Pub, where she brought joy and energy to every shift and was adored by coworkers and patrons alike.
Katelyn was known for being sweet, thoughtful, and always someone others could count on. Friends describe her as the life of the party, but more importantly, as someone who made everyone feel seen and cared for. She had a gift for making people laugh—whether it was through her witty one-liners, random memes, or heartfelt jokes.
One touching tribute from Anthony Saster of Franklin reads:
“What can I say Mooney. You were always so sweet and thoughtful. You always stuck by me growing up throughout school. Then later on you got close with my family, and other friends. Nobody was more the life of a party, and exhibited a sweet presence more than you. I’ll miss your random memes you would text me out of the blue. Or your funny jokes, or quotes you’d spring on me. Rest easy queen. ‘Til we meet again.”
Katelyn’s beautiful soul, radiant smile, and boundless spirit will never be forgotten. Her loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in the coming days.
In the meantime, friends and loved ones are encouraged to keep her memory alive through shared stories, laughter, and the same love that Katelyn gave so freely. Rest in peace, sweet Katelyn. You will be missed dearly.
